I really enjoy the word spiritual especially as it relates to scripture. The Holy Spirit teaches comparing spiritual things with spiritual. The natural man does not receive the things of the spirit of God for they are foolishness to them, nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. What a wonderful text of scripture. What does it mean comparing spiritual things with spiritual? What are spiritual things? I have often thought it meant that the Holy Spirit connects the Old Testament to the New Testament in a way that mortal man has difficulty accepting. It connects to spiritual dots to prophesy. Often times you hear the Apostle Paul admonish believers that he could not speak to them as unto spiritual. Instead he had to refer to carnal terms appealing to their infancy in Christ or as to babes in Christ. Are you a pablum Christian? My older sister often tells me that she doesn’t want to understand scripture the way her younger brother does because she does not want to be responsible to scripture. Obedience is better than sacrifice.
All believers in the body of Christ should be on the road to faith by way of obedience. The Bible says that he who is spiritual judges all things yet he himself is rightly judged by no one for he has the mind of Christ. From whom much is given much is required. I would think all believers in the body of Christ would like their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to say when they up here before him on that last day to hear Jesus say, well done my good and faithful servant. In flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey him. These will be punished with Everlasting destruction. To know him is to obey him. I can tell you one thing for sure and that is no one wants to hear the words of the adversary who says simply, well done. A sad thing is that his well done will be in Hell Fire. As in all things you have two options, which will you choose?
What exactly can take down a wall? A stick of Dynamite? A sledgehammer? Walls can be breached quite easily so why put enormous amounts of money into a wall? Right now walls are very much the talk of the country. At one time both parties were interested in a wall on our Southern border. At separate times of course. Why bother? It is easy to take down a wall. Look at the wall between East and West Germany and how easy it came down once the effort was made to do so. Did you know that a wall existed, a very formidable wall, that lasted through the entire Old Testament and the Gospels and ended just about the time of Stephen. It was up there in a long time and it was called a wall of partition that separated Jews and Gentiles.
Examine what the Jews had here compared to the Gentiles. The Gentiles were in a sorry state but God had a secret that he had kept within himself from the beginning of time. It was to be released to the Apostle Paul.
When the wall partition came down salvation for both Jews and Gentiles was possible through the blood of Jesus Christ that he shed on the cross for them.
He himself is our peace. I only wish more people knew that and would accept him as their lord and savior. Jesus Christ tore down this wall. Throughout his Earthly Life Time he came to his own and his own rejected him. He sent out his disciples to the Jews only as evidenced in Matthew 10:4-6 and 15:24. His ministry was to the Jews or to the circumcised according to Romans 15:8. Jesus once called a gentile woman a dog and just think what kind of publicity he would have got today off that statement? The me-too movement would have been all over Him. But through his blood shed on the cross he pulled down that middle wall of partition and pulled it down for good. For the good of mankind. He has made Jew and Gentile one in him.
Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
This is the state of the door knockers which are the Mormons and the Jehovah’s Witnesses. When they come to your door bringing their poisonous doctrines just close the door behind you. If you are well grounded in the truth you may choose to witness to them and perhaps save them from their Eternal fate. If you go into a Mormon stake, which is their name for a church, this will be your Eternal outcome. However if you attend the Watchtower meeting, this will be your fate.
If Christians are obedient to the gospel Christ will say to them, well done my good and faithful servant. However for Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses the adversary will say to them, well done in Hellfire. I trust you can see the difference?
Jesus Christ gave the Great Commission to his eleven disciples. They were to take the gospel into the entire world. So how far did they get? They never left Israel. That means Peter, being one of the 11, could not have been the first pope. Nevermind the fact that the Roman Catholic Church didn’t even start until the 4th century. It was Paul and his crew that went into the world with the gospel. Soon after Christ was resurrected the apostles chose Matthias to be the 12th disciple. Just out of curiosity, how many of our readers can Name six apostles? The good news for you is that you now have a list of all twelve! And just because the 12 disciples never got the gospel out into the world that doesn’t relieve you from getting the gospel to the world.
Who was the Great Commission given to? It was given to the 11 disciples. Judas was no longer with them Mathias had not yet been chosen. The Great Commission was not given to you and me as that would be taking the scripture out of context. The audience in question was the 11 disciples. No one else was with them at the time. Remember when Jesus commissioned them in Matthew 10 he told them to go out and preach the gospel to everyone but Gentiles and Samaritans. His specific Instructions were to take it to the lost sheep of the House of Israel. The eleven disciples never left Israel. The gospel of the Kingdom stayed within the boundaries of the country of Israel. Paul’s gospel, on the other hand, made it to the world of that time. Jesus often told the 12 disciples about his coming death, burial, and that he would rise on the third day but they could not comprehend it. What Jesus preached to the disciples, he later gave to Paul to do. On our own volition, we can take the gospel to whoever will hear it. But the Great Commission was given only to the 11 disciples and to say otherwise would be taking the scripture out of context.
