The Jewish Talmud About You

If the Jews hated Jesus, how do they feel about Christians? Despite what you read here we are still to pray and witness to Jews. And pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Now the tough part, while there is blindness in part, witness to Jews  about Jesus who came and died for them. Be persistent in your witness.

Job and “The Change”

What did Job mean here when he says, When my change comes? Was he referring to an afterlife? The appointed time seems to refer to his death. Then he will wait. Wait for what? Till my change comes. There is an afterlife referenced in the Old Testament. It is in Daniel 12 when the Prophet says, some will awake to everlasting life or Everlasting destruction Daniel 12:2. The change? 1st Corinthians 15:51 says, we shall all be changed in the twinkling of an eye. Is this the change Job is referring? And remember that Job is the oldest book in the Old Testament. So what do you think this means? Leave a comment to start the discussion.

The Fellowship of His Sufferings

Buddhists have no understanding of Jesus Christ. In their particular lingo their gas tank would be empty in Christ for without Christ you can do nothing and that is from John 15:5. Suffering is part of the territory with a Christian. Whereas the Buddhist is trying to escape suffering, good luck on that point, while the Christian Embraces suffering to perfect character. I sometimes see a Believer as a block of granite. God the Sculptor designs that granite into a human being. But as he sands off our rough areas we might wince in pain or suffering. To get to the finished product it takes a lot of suffering to reach perfection. We have that Fellowship of suffering that no other religion has. It would be extremely hard to explain this to a Buddhist because they are not spiritual people as it relates to Christ. They believe in nothing and are trying to reach nothing. Their philosophy makes no sense. And we are warned about philosophy as Christians in Colossians 2:8 which labels it empty deceit. There’s that word empty again. Buddhists understand the word empty but they have no idea how to fill that empty cup up. Just remember the next time you suffer for Christ sake, that he is perfecting your character.

God’s Purpose: Are YOU Kicking Against the Goads?- 2

Are you kicking against the goads? No, this isn’t Adam Vinatieri kicking against an NFL team such as the Georgetown Goads. The question was directed to the Apostle Paul by Jesus Christ himself. So what are goads?

Ananias was told by Jesus to show Paul how many things he must suffer for the sake of the name of Jesus Christ. Suffering was nothing new to Paul as he caused Christians to suffer when he turned them into prison when he was called Saul.

Paul was a chosen vessel and that vessel was chosen from his mother’s womb according to Galatians 1. Paul, like this author, went through many stop signs before he saw the light. How many stop signs have you run through? Are you too kicking against the goads?

So why do we kick against the goads? Going back to Jeremiah, he had the answer. Oh Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself. It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps. Are you kicking against the goads?

Stop kicking against yourself because the only one you are hurting is yourself spiritually. It took a direct intervention by Jesus Christ to help the Apostle Paul become the chosen vessel he was meant to be prior to his birth.

Trying to kick against the goads is like placing yourself against God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit which are one formidable team. I hope this has helped you understand God’s purpose for your life and a timetable to achieve that purpose.

What is God’s Purpose for YOUR Life?- 1

Do you know that you are called according to His purpose? For he has a purpose for each and everyone of us. It took me awhile to know what my purpose was but I finally figured it out after going through many stop signs that God had set before me. Think about this.

Before Jeremiah was even born, God knew him and set before him his life’s work or the purpose of God for his life. He did that for His son as well. Jesus knew along the way that he was going to the cross even though his disciples did not understand that. If Jeremiah was called before he was born according to the purpose of God is it so far-fetched to comprehend God’s calling for each and everyone of us? We are called according to God’s purpose for our life. Some like Jonah fight that purpose as I also once did. We also come with excuses.

Jeremiah trying to use his youth as an excuse but that didn’t get him very far. If you’re called according to the purpose of God, God will equip you with what you need to accomplish that purpose. In Jeremiah’s case he had a tough assignment. And here it is.

Jeremiah’s Ministry was to be 2/3 negative and 1/3 positive. But without rooting out and pulling down and to destroy and throw down he would not be able to build and to plant. Remember the Bible tells us that we must rid ourselves of our old man before the new man can be put on. I will go into greater detail in part 2 as I shift the conversation from Jeremiah to the Apostle Paul.

Christian Persecution

The Bible says that when you suffer as a Christian you are blessed. For the spirit of God rests upon you. It may not seem that way at the moment because persecution is almost like going into the lions den but afterwards it yields the Peaceable fruit of righteousness. Persecution goes with the territory. Christians in the United States are just beginning to get persecuted but those in the world much more so. Some have even died for their faith. When those college girls were caught by ISIS and asked if they were Jewish or Christian, if they answered yes, they were shot on the spot. That is persecution like we have never known. Just remember in your persecution if we deny Jesus he will deny us. Today the homosexual agenda has flipped. They are still persecuted somewhat but those that stand against them are persecuted more. When people come against your faith those tormentors are blasphemed but on your part, you are glorified. When we suffer for Christ we are not to be ashamed. Instead we are to glorify God for this. We are in the last days and Christians will begin to suffer more and more for our faith in this evil world we find ourselves. Some states are now trying to ban the Bible and it is harder to get a Bible on the internet. The prince of the power of the air is doing his best to weaken your faith. But stand strong in the strength of your faith in these ever-increasing times of turmoil. In the world you will suffer tribulation which include troubles and pressures, but of good cheer for Christ has overcome the world.

What about your attitude in regard too healing? A merry heart is like medicine. Thank you Dr. Proverbs.

This is an Old Testament healing from Isaiah. For a boil, put a lump of figs on the boil and  the word of God says, he recovered.

James provides us with essential information on healing. Call for the elders of the church and have them pray over you. Then have them anoint you with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise them up.   Next time, I shall be looking at the Christian Science faith in regard to healing.

Numbers and Complaining

Once God had delivered Israel into the Promised Land you would think things had gotten better. Instead Israel began whining about the food they left behind in Egypt. God has provided them with manna for substance but it wasn’t good enough for Israel as they wanted meat to eat. So God gave them the desires of their heart. He sent quail in from the sea and the one that gathered least gathered ten homers. Homer’s were a unit of measurement. God provided them enough meat for a whole month and they ate until it came through their nostrils. While the meat was still between teeth God let them choke on it and many died. Craving for graves was what they actually got for not trusting God. Don’t let your Cravings get the best of you. Big deal. The one that gathered least got 10 homers but Barry Bonds once got 73 homers!

An Open Letter to the Body in Christ of Africa

This letter is to my brothers and sisters in Christ from the great continent of Africa. I know that you have many Pentecostal pastors coming to your land with miracles, signs, and wonders. But the real and true miracle is found in the pages of God’s Bible. It is spiritual food for all of you. Jesus when he was at the Passover had many people come before him because of the signs, miracles, feedings, and wonders that he did before them. But the Bible said, Jesus did not commit himself to them. This is found in John 2:23-24. Jesus knew all men and they were there only for his miracles, feedings, and wonders or what I would call the entertainment value of Christ. Jesus didn’t want that. He wanted them to come to him because he was their Messiah. In my companion website called Big Bass Lake and Beyond I speak of a recipe involving the pollen from cattails which can be used to make pancakes and other food items. Someone commented from Africa about the abundance of cattails in your country that can be used for food. But I want to add to your diet spiritual food which is found in the word of God. Feast on it daily. The sword of the spirit is the word of God and that coupled with prayer are the offensive weapons of the full armor of God. My Hope and prayer is that all Africa will come to a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. No Miracles or signs can top that. Then think about these words from Jeremiah 15:16. Feast on the word of God to grow your spiritual faith and you will be made whole in Body, soul, and spirit. I will be praying for your spiritual growth. I hold all of you in my heart and hope and pray that you will follow the lord Jesus Christ even without miracles or wonders. Jesus loves you and he wants you to follow him into eternity. Praise the Lord! Amen and amen!

Exodus and the Promised Land

Moses had to endure a lot in the 40 years in the wilderness. There was constant complaining about what Israel had left behind in Egypt. The people were ungrateful and were not satisfied with the Manna that God provided for them. The only two that saw the Promised Land was Joshua and Caleb plus all the children. 10 spies were sent to check out the land and only two reported it to be a land flowing with milk and honey. The other ten spies reported all the negatives of the land. Moses never made it to the promised land or at least that one. You know how Moses endured all the complaints? He saw Jesus who was invisible to everyone else. Moses saw the cross before there was a cross according to Hebrews 11. How do you endure your daily struggles? Jesus said that we had our peace in him even though the world would give us troubles and pressures. Be of good courage for Jesus has overcome the world.

Body Exercise Profits Little

This is my niece Sarah and she is a fitness expert. She has done quite well for herself overcoming serious problems along the way.But one thing she lacks. The Bible says body exercise profits little. In Greek that means minuscule. I do pray for my niece that her spiritual exercise would equal her physical exercise and help her to overcome whatever comes her way. She has a precious son whom she loves dearly and what she lacks spiritually is there for the taking. Count it ALL joy when you fall into your trials for those are spiritual tests that produces patience, not becoming a patient. Read Job and how he dealt with suffering. I continue to pray for you and your family.

Confessing to Sin and Forgiveness

I recently heard about a Baptist minister who confessed to his church that he had been a child abuser while being a minister. He gave a heart rendering sermon and there were many tears in that congregation. He had been their Minister for 20 years. At the end of the service he told his flock he had to step down from being their minister. He was surrounded by people praying for him. The next Sunday he attended services with his wife as a member of the congregation but there was a change. People began staring at him. Their initial reaction to him had changed after it had a week in set in on them. And there were Whispers about what he had done. He also told authorities what he had done and was arrested a week later. His wife actually had to move out of the community because she was no longer loved by the congregation. There is a saying that the church is the only army in the world that has a reputation for deserting it’s wounded. The minister actually did what was right but his congregation did not. Was his open confession a good idea? He did what he had been taught in the Bible. With confession at times there are consequences and he was willing to face them. His wife had nothing to do with the charge and she stayed loyal to him until his release. It was his church community that let him down. Let he that is without sin cast the first stone. Jesus said upon the cross, father forgive them for they know not what they do. That minister was also upon his cross in his confession to his congregation. After 20 years with them you would think there would have been more compassion for him. Yes he did sin but Christ forgave him immediately. And yes there were consequences which he faced in the strength of his faith. He could have gone on lying to his congregation. If you do not forgive other people their trespasses neither will your heavenly father forgive your trespasses.

The Talmud Teaches Jews to Hate Christians: Part Two

In contrast to this hatred the Bible and Jesus Christ specifically admonishes Christians to, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those that spitefully use and persecute you that you may be sons of your father in Heaven. Quite the contrast wouldn’t you say?

Romans 11:26 says, hardening or blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in and then all Israel will be saved.

Actually the all of Israel that will be saved is one third going through the tribulation hour. The other two thirds will die in the tribulation. They will be tried as Through Fire. God always has his Remnant people.

Despite all this Christians are to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. We are to love our enemy perceived or otherwise. My prayer for Israel is that they will be saved and some of them will be saved.

Again despite how Jews perceive us we are to love them in return and pray for them on a daily basis. If God will grant them repentance to hear us maybe some will be saved and have a whole new outlook on the Gentiles.
