It’s up to the pastor or elders to Warn. But could it be that pastor’s either don’t want to warn or don’t see the need to warn as the reason the church is in so much peril? The pastor views warning as something that could lower the number of members he’s serving. Preach the word. Be ready in season and out for the time will come when they will not endure sound Doctrine. That time is today. The church wants Happy Talk. They desire syrupy love little realizing that love warns. But instead of blowing the trumpet they just blow it! Because they have itching ears they will Heap up for themselves teachers that will turn their ears away from truth and be turned aside to Fables. I’ve got news for you pastors, the Bible is not Aesop’s Fables. The Bible is full of warnings. I am reminded of the late Dr. Robert Schuller. He had his possibility thinker’s Bible and he once noted not his Bible had 1500 possibility thinker’s verses which amounted to 4.6% of the Bible. Was he saying that 95.4% of the Bible was not worth preaching? I can tell you that he didn’t preach out of those verses ever. He once told Billy Graham that there’s a wideness in God’s mercy and Graham agreed. Broad is the gate and wide is the way that leads to destruction and many go in by it. But narrow is the gate and difficult is the way that leads to life and few find it and that is from Matthew 7:13-14. Next time I will begin with Ezekiel 33.
